What is Dermaplaning and is a Dermaplane facial the right choice for everyone?
Dermaplaning is a method of physical exfoliation using a sterile, surgical scalpel to gently shave the skin’s surface, removing the top-most layer of dead skin along with fine, vellus hair (aka peach fuzz). This painless procedure leaves the skin more silky smooth than other exfoliation techniques due to the hair removal process.
What Are The Benefits Of A Dermaplane Facial?
A Dermaplane facial is a safe and painfree procedure for removing dead skin cells, it eliminates soft facial hair that traps dirt and oils, it promotes smoother skin, reduces the appearance of acne scars and diminishes the look of fine lines. The skin will be left smooth and naturally radiant!
Who Shouldn’t Get A Dermaplane Facial?
A Dermaplane facial is appropriate for all ages and for most skin types, but if you have deep cystic acne or sensitive skin, you may want to sit this treatment out. If you have acne, wait until breakouts are clear. For sensitive skin, note that 21 days’ worth of dead skin cells will be removed, so skin will be more sensitive post-treatment. It is also worth noting that Dermaplaning is only meant for the face, and neck.
What is included in a Dermaplane Facial?
Before your first Dermaplaning treatment a full and thorough consultation is carried out in order to inform you of what the treatment entails and to establish your skin concerns. Dermaplaning is suitable for all skin types, male and female except those with active pustular acne.

A full and thorough consultation is carried out before your treatment begins. Your facial will include a gentle foam cleanse, this is to remove surface impurities and make-up and also to help regulate the PH levels in the skin, then toner is applied. Once the skin is clean and free from impurities the Dermaplane exfoliation is carried-out. Following the procedure, Hydration drops, liquid peptides and a deep-penetrating SPF50 moisturiser is applied for post procedure protection.
Post-Facial Care
The number one thing to remember after a Dermaplane facial is that your skin will be much more sensitive to the sun and other environmental factors. While this is true of any facial, this is especially important after a Dermaplane facial as a deeper level of exfoliation has occurred. Ensure you are using SPF protection on your face immediately after the procedure and reapply often to keep your skin radiant and healthy. Also hydration is key so keep up with liquid hydration drops.

A full and thorough consultation is carried out before your treatment begins. An Enzyme exfoliating peel is applied to the face and neck to dissolve dead skin cells and refine the skin. Once the skin is clean and free from impurities the Dermaplane exfoliation is carried-out. The face is then steamed for several minutes. Then there is an intensive, vitamin drenched, cool moisture mask is applied to strengthen the skins immune system. Whilst the cooling mask takes effect you will have an LED light treatment tailored to your skin needs. Following the removal of the coolness mask Hydration drops, liquid peptides and a deep-penetrating SPF50 moisturiser is applied for post procedure protection.
